A Spooktacular Menu for Trick or Treat Night

By Melissa Hucal October 29, 2015
Dinner time prior to trick or treating can be a challenge. Kids are so excited for the activities ahead that getting them to sit down to a decent meal requires a magic all its own! Put a Halloween twist on some kid-friendly foods and your family will find this meal as much of a treat as the candy that will fill their bags later.

Our spooktacular menu includes Jack-o-lantern Pizzadillas with Blood Red Marinara and a side of “fingers” (also known as baby carrots).

To make each pizzadilla you’ll need:
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • Shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese blend
  • 4-6 pepperonis
Preheat the broiler setting on your oven.

Stack the two tortillas and cut a bit from the top to form a stem. This step is a breeze using kitchen shears. With a paring knife, cut a jack-o-lantern face in one of the tortillas.

Place the faceless tortilla on a foil-lined broiler pan. Sprinkle a layer of cheese on top of the tortilla.
Place pepperoni slices on top of the cheese, positioning several so that they will show through the face features cut from the second tortilla.

Place the face tortilla on top, lining up the edges.

Broil for 3-5 minutes, until cheese is melted and tortilla is lightly browned.

Remove from the oven and serve with warm Blood Red Marinara (pizza sauce) for dipping.

Enjoy your spooktacular meal and have a fun night of trick or treating!
