Skylanders Academy follows the heroic adventures of Spyro, Eruptor, Stealth Elf, Jet-Vac, Pop Fizz and their team of young warriors as they travel the vast Skylands universe protecting it from evil-doers. Based on the popular Skylanders video game series, the action comedy centers on the band of heroes as they train under the watchful eye of Master Eon learning how to keep peace and protect their homeland from the constant threat of villainous forces.
Skylanders fans will look forward to new adventures in Season 2. Spyro begins a search for information about his ancestors in order to harness and understand his special powers. The Skylanders unite once more for the greatest showdown against evil yet – putting them all to the ultimate test. Two new additions to the cast this season include Cynder, a new cadet at the Academy with a mysterious past, and Sprocket, tech head extraordinaire who can repair any bad situation.
Earlier in the month, our Skylanders Academy Premiere Party guests had the opportunity to watch the first two new episodes. Guests colored new character coloring pages and enjoyed light refreshments while being one of the first to preview the first two episodes. Families that attended received complimentary comic books and button pins. The kids really enjoyed the show!
My son has many Skylanders characters for the video game and loved the show. He was really excited that his favorite character Kaos’ quest to bring evil rule to the Skylands realms accidentally unleashes a villain more powerful than anything Kaos or the Skylander warriors have ever faced.
Another guest had full of knowledge of season 1 and thoroughly loved the first 2 episodes. His favorite character, Spyro, is possibly the greatest Skylander of all time. This purple dragon jumps into danger without thinking twice.
There is really no gender separation in what these young heroes can accomplish. One family, that had never seen show or played the game, said their daughter couldn't wait to watch more episodes, especially with very capable, strong, female characters created by the show's producers.
Parents appreciated Skylanders Academy lesson that everyone has their own inner power, something that makes them special & it is important to believe in yourself. The storylines in the show often involve the team working together, and there is an even balance of male and female heroes throughout all of the episodes.
