Strauss Youth Academy for the Arts invites you to come join the fun at our 4th annual Fall Festival and Haunted Theatre. The Fall Festival will feature a variety of crafts, activities, food, and games including face painting, bean bag toss, pick-up ducks, a fishing booth, Plinko, musical chairs, a pie-throwing booth, and more. Each day will feature a different competition that you can compete in to win free tickets to upcoming SYAA productions and gift certificates to local eateries: Friday - Pumpkin Carving, Saturday - Costume, and Sunday - Baking. Sit down and have a hamburger plate with chips, a drink, and a little something sweet for dessert.
And as an added bonus, we’ll have a special trick or treating track in the theatre for the young and the young-at-heart. Trick or treaters will get to meet a variety of characters from some of your favorite children’s movies and will take home a bag of candy that will be… sweeeeet!
Then, as the sun goes down, prepare yourself for SYAA’s Haunted Theatre: Assylum, in which you will be transported to the 1950s, a time when new psychiatric treatments are being performed every day. Join your guide, Dr. Bates, on a tour of the famous Greenrich Asylum. Witness ground-breaking therapies such as light therapy, electroshock therapy, and more. Dr. Bates might be a bit off his rocker, and the patients might be a bit…aggressive. But surely, they are the insane ones, not you? Or do you need to become a permanent patient at the Greenrich Asylum?
The Fall Festival & Haunted Theatre will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 11, 12, & 13. The Festival will last from 5 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Trick or Treat Trail will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., and the Haunted Theatre will host tours for 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Festival One-Day Admission: FREE
Event Tickets: 50¢ ea. or 25 for $10*
Hamburger Plates: $5 each
Trick or Treat Trail or Haunted Theatre Tour: $5 each
*Most games will cost 1-2 tickets. Premium booths such as face painting, laser tag, and pie-throwing will be $2-5 or the ticket equivalent.
