One of the hardest parts of adulting is keeping a house tidy and clean. With 3 children, working from home, and tending to everyone's changing schedules, I let the house go at times. Then it stresses me out and something has to give. So last week I decided to make a phone call for HELP! I can blame it all on my mom friend, Sara. She's been raving about her house cleaning lady for quite some time and I finally listened to what she had to say. I called Renee with Professional Cleaning Services of NELA. She was very kind and quick to give me their next available cleaning session.
The night before they came, guess what I did?! Yeah, you guessed it. I 'cleaned' my home. I picked up all the things and had the kids pick up nerf darts, marbles, little legos that make you want to curse so loud the neighbors might hear. I laid out sheets because my friend told me they would even change the sheets on the bed. Wow, I knew we were in for a treat!
The next morning they came and I packed up my work stuff and headed to a local coffee shop to work while they were there. I couldn't wait to head home and see if they had met my expectations. Sometimes I can be pretty hard to please. I've used cleaning services in the past a few times and was just never satisfied enough to keep it up quite honestly. So after my work was done and errands were ran, I headed home where the smell of clean greeted me at the door. My floors were so clean and I didn't have to break my back to do it. The beds had new linens, fans were wiped clean of dust, mirrors were free of splattered toothpaste and all the trash was taken out. One of the things that stood out to me most was later that evening when I opened my microwave to heat something for the kids, I noticed that the girls had cleaned out weeks worth of yuck. It sparkled and it made me happy.

My favorite part of the experience was being able to spend the rest of the day playing with the kids. And my kids were excited because they didn't have to do their normal daily chores (take out trash, make bed, clean bathroom sinks) because they were done for them.
It truly put me in the best mood to come home to a clean home. And for the next several days I bragged about my clean home. We just got through with a remodel and my home needed the works.
