Our Local Spring Break Trip

Lincoln Parish Park is a Hidden Gem that Our Family Loves

By Krystal Farnell-Publisher, Monroe-West Monroe March 25, 2021

Spring is here and we decided to plan a mini vacation for our family over spring break! Our family has an RV and they graciously let us borrow it for a fun adventure. We chose Lincoln Parish Park for our getaway because we love the beautiful, picturesque views around the lake and on the trails.

There are trails galore and all are set up for bikes. Lincoln Parish Park is actually known for one of the best mountain bike trails in America. Our kids enjoyed riding them and my oldest actually went down a pretty steep one and I could not watch. I was so proud of him for being so brave! The hubby and I enjoyed walks around the beautiful lake while the kids rode or walked alongside us. There is also a playground located in the park that they enjoyed.

The campgrounds have full hook-ups for RVs if you are wanting to stay. Each spot comes with a fire-pit and a picnic table. We packed food for days, stuff for S'mores, fishing poles, bikes, and a small grill so we could grill out in the evenings. The weather was perfect--cooler in the mornings and evenings but warmed up during the day when we were out adventuring. We can't wait to plan a trip to go back. This park is so clean and I like that I can let the kids venture out some on their own too. With the weather being so nice right now, it is really the perfect time to go if you've never experienced Lincoln Parish Park. We are already planning a return trip with friends!
