Celebrating ONE Year as Macaroni Kid Publisher

By Krystal Farnell, Publisher, Macaroni Kid Monroe - West Monroe June 24, 2021

Wow, it's my ONE year anniversary with Macaroni KID and being your publisher for Monroe-West Monroe!

One year ago, I said yes to serving my community! I started when the world was a little crazy with coronavirus and we really didn't know we'd be stuck at home for so long. Public events weren't happening therefore I had to get pretty creative with each newsletter and the resources I provided to you each week. Learning to pivot was a little bit of a struggle as I like to go and do with my family and tell YOU all about it. But, we were able to get creative during our time at home and really enjoyed each other. Knowing others were stuck at home as well helped me as I'm very much an extrovert. Also, having Macaroni Kid National and the resources they provide helped us give your family ideas for things to do at home.

I have now published 52 newsletters and have enjoyed connecting with families and small businesses each Thursday. I hope to provide you with local events, crafts, parenting resources, and highlight local small businesses in each newsletter that is sent out.

One of the best parts of being a Mac Kid publisher is hearing from the small businesses that I get to work with and how they've seen this site help their business and bring families to them. You and I both know how hard businesses fought to keep doors open through Covid and now so many places are thriving because families are out and having family fun!

Thank you to my readers-YOU! For sticking through the bare calendar and being a supporter of this FREE resource that I provide each week to the community. I love hearing from you via email or meeting you in person at events. Knowing that Macaroni Kid is a necessary resource keeps me finding all the events and local things for you all. Grateful that you follow along on social media and engage as well. I couldn't do what I do without you!

Talk real soon,

Krystal
