Those multi-colored bricks have given our family hours upon hours of fun over the years. We have followed step-by-step instructions for elaborate builds and also had freestyle-fun building anything we could dream.

Recently, the Northeast Louisiana Children's Museum hosted the Fun with Frank LEGO Workshop and we can't wait until he comes back again. Mr. Frank threw the instructions out the window and began the workshop by reading a book about architecture. The book was about children designing a school that included very unique and wonderful features.

After the children listened to the story they designed a dream school with their assigned bricks. Some of the schools had swimming pools on the rooftops while others had helipads to land helicopters instead of the typical bus system. The kids really used their imagination and most importantly, Mr. Frank has each child share details with the group about their build and its special features which increases their confidence and communication skills.

We can't wait for another, Fun with Frank LEGO Workshop!

LEGO WEBSITE

So much LEGO fun! We can't end this article without mentioning the LEGO Website which has so many FREE and fun things for the kids to do. First, did you know that LEGO has been around for 90 years? Their birthday was on August 10th, 2022, and was celebrated with a World Play Day event.

When on the website, the Discover link opens hours of fun! A FREE LEGO Life Magazine that usually has 32 pages of activities, games, builds, comics, and more! The magazine is easily downloadable and is available for kids younger than 7 years old and above 7 years old and there are several issues available.

There is a link called Rebuild the World which is a random idea generator that will search LEGO builds from around the world and give you ideas about builds you can do with your child.

We can't forget the Play Zone! There are really awesome videos and interactive games to enjoy that feature Ninjago, Friends, Super Mario, Harry Potter, Minecraft, Star Wars, and more.

BRICKIT APP

This app could be a really fun addition to your LEGO builds. There is a free option with this app or a $3.99 per month option, either way, you are in for a treat! Just scatter your bricks on a table and take a photo. Brickit will come up with hundreds of ideas of what can be built with them, you select what you want to build, and the app will show you the exact location of each piece you’ll need.

We hope you build lots of wonderful memories with your bricks and if you haven't, please subscribe to our free weekly e-newsletter!
