Online Silent Auction and Free Celebration! Don't miss your chance to take home a unique piece of local history! NEW AT pARTy 318 THIS YEAR: Raise the Roof! A roof tile fundraiser for the permanent collection. Area artists have created works of art using one of the original blue slate tiles from the museum’s roof.
In 2020, a tornado hit the museum causing roof damage and not all the original tiles from the 1929 roof were able to be reused. They have saved these historic tiles and artists have created breathtaking art with them. Funds raised during the online bidding process will help The Masur with the care of the museum’s permanent collection and offset additional expenses they have sustained with the purchase of an art storage facility in 2017 due to a fire.
We highly recommend visiting the online silent auction to view all 27 pieces of art which are as unique as each artist. Artists participating are Emily Caldwell, Jennifer K. Haynes, Halie Burnside, Drek Davis, Alyssa Guidry, Keagan Vaughan, Peter Jones, Nick Pepper, Leah Reitzell, Brandon C. Virgil, Sr., Catherine Oswal, Suzanna Scott, Jenny Ellerbe, Valerie Murataya and Vivian Graham, Anna Rowan, Christiane Drieling, Stefan Nodarse, and Viana Fabian.
