The City of West Monroe Board has announced an essay contest for middle and high school students in celebration of the City of West Monroe’s 140th Birthday this year.
Middle and high school students currently enrolled in grades 6-12 who live in the City of West Monroe, or the west side of the Ouachita River are invited to enter the essay contest.
Essays can address various topics, including a student’s experiences of growing up in West Monroe, things a student enjoys about the community, or thoughts about West Monroe’s future.
One winning essay from the following grade categories will be awarded – 6-8 grades: 9-10 grades and 11-12 grades. Entries must be submitted via email to wm140@westmonroe.la.gov by Friday, March 31 at 5 p.m.
