Earth Day: Fun Ways Kids Can Help with Recycling!

Love the Boot Week, Keep Louisiana Beautiful

By Missy Robertson, Publisher Macaroni Kid Monroe-West Monroe April 13, 2023

Teaching kids to be responsible on Earth Day 2023 can be done through various fun and educational activities such as planting trees, recycling, reducing waste, and learning about sustainable living. Encouraging children to take care of the environment can help instill lifelong habits that have a positive impact on our planet.

Thanks to the City of West Monroe's centrally located recycling center it is easy to encourage your kids to give recycling a try!

We have more incredible Earth Day news; a recent $84,500 grant was received to enhance the operations of the West Monroe Recycling Center. Grant funds will be used to purchase equipment such as additional bins to hold recycling materials, a forklift, a portable ramp, new signage, and outreach materials.
