The Future Entrepreneur Academy, hosted by the West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, is giving local high school students the chance to step into the real world of business—and it’s so much more than a typical summer program.
🚀 What is the Future Entrepreneur Academy?
The Future Entrepreneur Academy is a free, hands-on program for students entering grades 9–12 designed to introduce them to the world of entrepreneurship.
Over the course of the program, students will:
- Develop their own business ideas
- Learn the basics of marketing, branding, and finance
- Collaborate in teams to create a full business plan
- Present their ideas in a final “Shark Tank-style” pitch competition
And yes… it’s just as exciting as it sounds.
🧠 Real-World Experience (Not Just a Classroom)
This isn’t worksheets and lectures—this is real-life learning.
Students get the chance to:
- Hear directly from local business leaders and industry experts
- Learn about permits, licensing, and city processes (including visits to local government offices!)
- Build confidence through teamwork, networking, and public speaking
By the end of the week, they’re not just learning about business—they’re thinking like entrepreneurs.

👥 Limited spots (around 50 students) – so early registration is key!
Students must complete an application, and a parent/guardian will need to sign a participation waiver.
