As the season approaches, we are thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated Fall Events and Halloween Guide will soon be released. Packed with all the information you need to make the most of family time, this guide will ensure that you don't miss out on any of the spectacular events coming your way.

From pumpkin patches and hayrides to Fall Festivals and costume parties, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're looking for family-friendly activities or thrilling adventures, our guide will be your go-to resource for finding the best fall events in your area. Get ready to create unforgettable memories and embrace the spirit of the season with your loved ones.

But that's not all! As we bid farewell to fall, we'll be diving headfirst into the holiday season, and our Holiday Guide will be right there by your side. Discover enchanting winter wonderlands, dazzling light displays, festive markets, and much more. Sneak Peek:

West Monroe's 140th Birthday Bash
Date: September 30th, 2023
Time: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: Ike Hamilton Expo Center 

The West Monroe Birthday Bash is presented by Cajun Tree Cutters and will take place on Saturday, September 30 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center. The event will include live music from Grammy-winning Cajun artist Wayne Toups and a firework finale. Other musical acts include northeast Louisiana bands No Good Horses and Monty Russell and Friends.


Skeletons on Tower
Date: October 1st - 31st, 2023

Location: Tower Drive and the Pavilion, Monroe, LA

This was such a fun event last year and you might remember our skeleton, "Sherlock Bones" He helped you find your family fun! This year you will see more skeletons, and yes, the 12-foot-tall Skellies are back! This event provided lots of photo opportunities and a chance to see just how creative our community can be! Shhhh... we've heard the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo is up to something really, really, really, big.

New Addition Alert: Sippin' with Skeletons (October 12th, 2023). This is an adult fun event that will be catered by one of Monroe's top restaurants, table sponsorships and individual tickets will be available!

This event is a fundraiser for ARCO, A Community Resource, and the Children's Museum of Northeast Louisiana


5th Annual Scarecrows in the Garden
Date: October 3rd, 2023 (Opening Night)

Time: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: 2000 Riverside Drive, Monroe, LA

Cost: $5.00 per person

Join us for a spooky good time at the 5th Annual NELA Scarecrow Competition, where area non-profits create imaginative and fun Halloween displays for guests to enjoy in Elsong Gardens. Featuring Scarecrow displays, a variety of games in the garden, Celebrity Judges Awards, and opportunities for guests to win meals at local restaurants. Scarecrows will remain on display for the Public Choice Award October 3 – 7, 2023.  Each guest receives a ticket to vote for their favorite display; extra votes can be purchased for $5.00 each. Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival and Highland Games
Date: October 7th, 2023
Time: Highland Games, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Time: Celtic Festival, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Cost: $5.00 per person


The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival is back with a new location, Lazarre Park! The fest will feature artisans and craft vendors, live music, a kid's zone, and the highly anticipated Highland games!


Touch-A-Truck or Trick or Treat
Date: October 21st, 2023
Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Ike Hamilton Expo Center
Cost: FREE

Explore all types of trucks from firetrucks to dump truck and visit with each vendor to get special treats, costumes are encouraged. 


Boo at the Zoo
Date: October 28th, 2023
Time: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: 1405 Bernstein Park Rd., Monroe, LA

Cost: Adults $6, Kids (3-12) $4.50, Seniors (65 and up) $4.50, 2 and Under FREE

Vendors will be in every nook and cranny of the zoo waiting to see your little cuties all dressed up in their costumes. There is usually a costume contest and tons of fun!


Boo with the Krewe
Date: October 31st, 2023
Time: 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: Krewe Float Den, 901 Louisville Ave., Monroe, LA
Cost: FREE

The Krewe of Janus invites you to Trick-or-Treat through their parade floats.
