The holiday season is just around the corner, and this year’s Twin Cities Holiday Kickoff event is bringing an extra bit of festive cheer to Election Day! Families and kids are invited to gather at Alley Park on Tuesday, November 5th, at 10 am in the morning, for a one-of-a-kind celebration that combines the spirit of voting with holiday fun. With schools out for Election Day, it’s the perfect chance to enjoy some family time and get the scoop about all the holiday festivities headed out way, including information about the 53rd Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade. Have you heard? This year's theme is, "The Great Elf Takeover!"
A Kid-Friendly Election Adventure
What makes this event truly special is the Kid-Friendly Election happening right in Antique Alley. Kids can step into the role of voters and cast their ballots for their favorite holiday elf. Using red or green M&M candies, kids will decide between two elves, either—Jingles or Jolly. These two elves will be there in person, campaigning and meeting all the young voters! After all the candy ballots are cast, votes will be counted, and the winning elf will be announced on Downtown West Monroe’s Facebook and Instagram that afternoon. The victorious elf will make an appearance in the iconic 53rd Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7th!
Fun for the Whole Family
The event promises plenty of excitement for everyone, with delicious food options from Blue Taco and Sweet Vibes Snowball food trucks on-site, making it easy to grab a bite while enjoying the festivities. With the school holiday and a host of family-friendly activities lined up, there’s no better way to celebrate Election Day than with an early taste of the holiday season.
So, gather the family, head down to Alley Park, and let the kids experience the joy of voting while joining in on a celebration of community and holiday cheer.
