Imagine learning to sew at just four years old—that’s exactly how Monroe’s own Dorothy Williams got her start! Now in her nineties, she’s still stitching up a storm, creating vibrant, imaginative quilts and garments that tell incredible stories. Her love for fabric and design was passed down from her mother, a talented seamstress, and she’s spent a lifetime bringing her creative visions to life—both as an artist and a former teacher.

Dorothy’s work is bold, colorful, and full of personality! She doesn’t just sew patterns—she creates playful, interactive pieces that kids and adults alike will love. One of our favorite examples? A dinosaur shirt that turns into an adventure all on its own! 🦖✨ Her pieces are textile treasures, transforming fabric into works of art that feel like they’re leaping right off the cloth.

Recently, Dorothy was featured on Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s Art Rocks, and we are thrilled to share a video clip showcasing her amazing talent! This is a must-watch for families and young artists—kids will be inspired to see how fabric can become art, and parents will love hearing Dorothy’s story of creativity, passion, and lifelong dedication to her craft.

A huge thank you to our friends at the Masur Museum for letting us know about Dorothy’s feature so we could share it with you! 🎥 Click the link below to watch the video and see Dorothy’s masterpieces for yourself. We promise—you’ll be amazed! 💛
