Kids Ready… Set… TRI! The 318 Youth Triathlon is Coming to West Monroe
If your child loves to move, splash, and race toward the finish line, this event is going to be right up their alley. The 318 Youth Triathlon, hosted by The Wellness Center, is giving kids the chance to challenge themselves in a fun and supportive environment with a swim, bike (or row), and run competition designed just for youth.
The race takes place Saturday, April 25, and it’s the perfect opportunity for kids to test their strength, endurance, and determination while having a whole lot of fun.
🏊🚴🏃 Race Divisions
The triathlon is divided by age groups with male and female divisions. Each group has a course designed specifically for their age level.
Ages 7–8
• 100 meter swim
• 35 calorie row
• ½ mile run
Ages 9–10
• 100 meter swim
• 35 calorie row

Ages 11–12
• 100 meter swim

• ½ mile run
Ages 13–14
• 200 meter swim
• 35 calorie bike
• 1 mile run
What the Race Looks Like
Athletes will start in the indoor heated pool for the swim portion. Once they finish their laps, they’ll move to the stationary rower or bike, where they’ll burn 35 calories before heading outside to the community track to complete their run.
The clock begins when the swim starts and keeps running until the final lap of the run is complete — making every second count!
To keep things organized, each participant will be assigned a lane and machine number. They’ll use the same number for the entire race, so everything flows smoothly.
And don’t worry — every athlete will have their own judge cheering them on and tracking their progress throughout the event.
