Get ready, Monroe-West Monroe families—freedom has never tasted this sweet! Macaroni KID Monroe-West Monroe is thrilled to help kick off Constitution Week at The Children’s Museum of Northeast Louisiana, September 16th-21st, 2025. This special celebration offers kids a hands-on way to learn about the foundations of our country while having a great time.
Here’s what makes Constitution Week amazing:
- A replica of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights will be on display for kids and adults to see up close.
- Real voting machines will be available, allowing children to practice what it’s like to vote—because it’s never too early to learn about the importance of having a voice.
- The event is open for school field trips, homeschool groups, or individual visits. To book or learn more, call the museum at (318) 361-9611.
- Included with the price of admission $7.00 per person (ages 2 and up), $5.00 per person for groups of 15 or more.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME VOTING PRACTICE & CAKE?
To kick things off, we’re hosting a sweet and silly practice election for kids and families. No hanging chads here—just delicious decisions to make. Your mission: help your kids vote for their favorite Newk's Eatery-Monroe Cake Candidate. Will it be Chris Chocolate, Suzy Strawberry, or Rudy Red Velvet? It’s a tough choice because these cakes aren’t just tasty—they’ve got campaign promises that are hard to resist. Just make sure your little voter selects one. It could be harder than you think! lol

Meet Your Cake Candidates for Mayor of Flavor City:
- 🍫 Chris Chocolate – Chris is rich. Rich in chocolate, that is! He’s got layers of fudgy goodness and a heart of cocoa gold. Chris promises:
- A brand-new park with extra swings and the biggest slide you’ve ever seen.
- Free chocolate chip day EVERY Friday (as long as you brush your teeth!).
Chris says: “Vote for me and life will be sweet—extra sweet!” - Chris also thinks kids should brush their teeth 4 times per day!
- 🍓 Suzy Strawberry – Suzy is pink, proud, and packed with fresh berry flavor. She’s light, fluffy, and totally fabulous. Suzy promises:
- No school on Fridays, so we can have “fun-day field trips” instead.
- Strawberry-scented scratch-and-sniff homework (that smells way better than math).
Suzy says, “Pick me, and every day will taste like summer!”
- ❤️ Rudy Red Velvet – Rudy is smooth, stylish, and comes with the perfect swirl of cream cheese icing. He’s the people’s cake! Rudy promises:
- A giant community pool shaped like a slice of cake.
- Pajama days at school every Monday—because Mondays are hard.
Rudy says: “I’ll roll up my sleeves (and frosting) to make life more awesome!” - Rudy is also the laundry KING, he thinks that every child should wash and dry their own laundry!
It’s a tough call, but that’s what democracy is all about—learning to make your voice heard, even when all the options are delicious.
