The Friends of Black Bayou invite families to a special Speaking of Science program featuring Dr. Gary Stringer and an incredible look at ancient megatoothed sharks that once lived right here in Northeast Louisiana.
Long before Monroe-West Monroe looked anything like it does today, this part of Louisiana was home to an entirely different world. During the Eocene Age, ancient sharks swam in waters covering the area that would eventually become Northeast Louisiana. Pretty wild to imagine, right?
Dr. Stringer will take guests back millions of years to learn more about these prehistoric predators and what fossils can teach us about Louisiana's ancient past.
