The Friends of Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge host a 1st Saturday Kids Program each month at 10:00 a.m., giving local kids a chance to learn about the amazing wildlife and natural world right here in Northeast Louisiana.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 5, 2026, and head to the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge Conservation Learning Center. This month, kids will be learning all about TURTLES!
It’s a great opportunity to turn a Saturday morning into a little family adventure—and the fun doesn’t have to end when the program does.
Afterward, take some time to walk the trails, explore the refuge, and visit the museum. You never know what you might spot along the way!
