Children's Fun Days: Black Cat Painting
Spooky season is creeping closer, and the Biedenharn is getting ready with a fun-filled Saturday of creativity and crafting!
Kids will be painting their very own black cats—a perfectly playful way to welcome fall and Halloween. 🐈⬛🎨
Tickets are just $5 per child, and adults are admitted FREE. An adult must accompany all children. I’ll include the ticket link in this article, so be sure to grab your spot and get ready to create!

Meet Benjamin Franklin — Yes, Really!
History is coming to life on September 16 & 17 at 6:00 p.m. with Meet Benjamin Franklin.
Families can hear from the man who helped draft the Constitution and learn more about its importance to our nation. “Franklin” will also share stories about his life as a printer in early America, and guests will get to see a live demonstration of an 1885 printing press.
Tickets are $10 per person.
This could be an especially fun outing for older kids who are studying American history. Learning about Benjamin Franklin in a textbook is one thing—meeting him is a whole different story!
Garden Cinema Under the Stars
Date night, anyone? On Friday, September 25, Garden Cinema returns with How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
The gates open at 7:45 p.m., with the movie beginning around 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, and freshly popped popcorn will be available for $1 a bag.
Grab your favorite person, enjoy the gardens, and settle in for a movie under the stars. ✨(Don't foget a lawn chair!)
And Fall Fun Is Just Getting Started!
The Biedenharn is also preparing for its 8th Annual Scarecrows in the Garden, with Northeast Louisiana nonprofit organizations invited to create family-friendly scarecrow displays representing their organizations.
Displays will be created October 6–10, with organizations competing for Celebrity and People’s Choice Awards—and even cash prizes. Participation for nonprofits is FREE.
This is one of those fall traditions we love because every visit brings something new to see!
Whether you’re painting black cats with the kiddos, stepping back in time with Benjamin Franklin, catching a movie in the garden, or checking out the scarecrows this fall, the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens continues to give Northeast Louisiana families some pretty fantastic ways to spend time together.
