Fresh Food, Wellness Checks, and Family Resources at Monroe’s Harvest & Health Fair
One stop for local produce and connections that can help your family thrive.
A trip to the farmers market could lead to more than fresh vegetables this fall! The Louisiana Department of Health is bringing a Harvest & Health Fair to the Ouachita Parish Health Unit on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Families can shop for fresh, locally grown produce from Big Daddy Farms, meet organizations offering community resources, and learn about public health programs and support for families. ULM nursing students will offer blood pressure checks, too.
Big Daddy Farms accepts SNAP/EBT. Shoppers with Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits can also ask about Greaux the Good, which can help them get twice as many fruits and vegetables for their benefit dollars. If you’re unsure whether your benefits qualify, the folks at the market can help you find out.
Whether you’re hoping to stretch your grocery budget, connect with a helpful local program, or pick up something fresh for dinner, stop by and see what’s available for your family.
