Description

The Black Heritage Parade is an avenue that brings culture and fun to our residents in Monroe and surrounding areas. It is also an opportunity for various organizations, businesses, schools, churches, fraternities, sororities, etc., to display their creative talents by designing unique floats that stroll up the streets in the parade. The parade is held every year during the last Saturday of February (Black History Month)

The parade provides a platform to highlight achievements, milestones, and the diverse cultures within the Black community. In addition to cultural displays, the Black Heritage Parade includes floats, marching bands, and community organizations. The 2024 parade theme is: Black Excellence: Past, Present, and Future.

Check-in is from 7:00-9:00 a.m. on Washington Boulevard at North 6th Street. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m.
